Drawing with Dust!? The Eyes Have It Drawing Series - Episode One

SUPPLY LIST:

THE PAPER

  • A sample piece of Hahnemühle 300 gsm (140 lbs.) cream-ish watercolor paper, hot press

THE CARBON DUST STUFF

  • Wolff's Carbon Pencils in 4B & 6B (used as dust & in pencil form)

  • Nitram sharpening block to make the aforementioned dust

  • A FILTHY Altoid's tin (from 2000) to store the dust

  • Chamois ("sham-ee") cloths for excess dust removal & blending

  • Several compressed paper blending stumps of varying sizes

  • Cotton glove with fingers cut off (blocks skin oils from the paper's surface - carbon dust sticks to the oil, leaving fingerprints, etc. behind)

ERASERS

  • Factis "pen style" white vinyl eraser

  • Grungy kneaded erasers of unknown provenance

INK & BRUSHES (FOR HIGHLIGHTS)

  • Winsor & Newton Series 7 size 000 sable brush

  • Winsor & Newton University Series size 6 brush

  • Dr. P.H. Marten's Bleedproof White Ink

GRAPHITE PENCILS

  • Staedtler Mars Lumograph Black series 8B pencil (so matte!)

  • Vintage Berol (or Eagle) Turquoise 3H pencil from my stash (thanks, eBay!)

PENS (FOR LASHES)

  • Sakura Micron pens in 01 and 003 (yes, they come that small)

  • Kingart Inkline Pen, medium 

  • Sharpie Fineliner
